To obtain accurate measurements of raw material volume, sensors for bulk materials are typically used. Such materials include not only sand-like products but also coarse materials: gravel, crushed stone, ore, and some food products. Calculations are performed using a capacitor and sensitive sensors.

Standard measurements can be conducted considering the homogeneity or heterogeneity of the raw material consistency. Thus, if sand and stone are mixed, more such raw material will fit in the tank than separate pure stone.

Application Areas of Sensors

Sensors and Indicators are produced in various modifications, allowing selection of a specific device for a particular type of production. Sensors can be divided into two groups depending on their purpose:

  • signal (rotary and vibratory);
  • measuring (reflex and electromechanical).

Signal sensors will activate when the container is filled, while measuring sensors will provide data on the mass of the loaded product. Both types of sensors can operate either in contact with the raw material or without it.

Sensors easily handle both liquid and granular materials. They are simple to install and adjust. Advantages of sensors:

  • resistance to temperature fluctuations;
  • high heat capacity;
  • operation from standard electrical supply;
  • minimal delay upon activation.

The sensor series is represented by two product groups: SA and ILT. They differ in appearance and purpose.

SA Series Sensors

Devices of this series are ideally suited for working with various granular materials. The only factor that may interfere with accurate data determination is increased product moisture or its dielectric permeability.

This measurement method protects the device from overloads and wear, as it has no moving parts. SA Level Sensor is easy to mount, well withstands adverse conditions, and consumes minimal electricity.

ILT Series Sensors
