When buying air conditioners in Kyiv, one must consider not only the price but also the intended operating conditions. This is especially true for owners of private homes located far from urban utilities. In recent times, there has been a real boom in house construction, particularly referring to the frame technology. It has many advantages: fast construction, affordable price, relative eco-friendliness, energy efficiency, and so on. However, living comfortably in such homes is impossible without a ventilation and air conditioning system. That’s why frame house builders often call them "thermos houses," because they retain temperature well and do not release heat outside. We’ve prepared a few tips on how to choose an air conditioner for a frame house, so you can more easily determine the appropriate climate equipment.

General recommendations:
- The power and performance should match the room’s square footage. It doesn’t make sense to buy an overly powerful air conditioner, as this would be unnecessary expense, and one should not push to extremes.
- Energy efficiency ratings. This is important when the home’s heating/cooling is exclusively powered by electricity. If you don’t want to receive huge utility bills, the air conditioner should be energy-efficient.
- Compressor type. We recommend an inverter, as it does not require constant on/off cycling and can regulate temperature independently, without operating under peak loads. This results in lower energy consumption, smoother temperature regulation, and lower noise levels.
- Sufficient number of automated features. Here, each person decides for themselves what they prefer.
- Air quality. Since we are talking about frame houses, here you need to pay twice as much attention to ventilation and indoor air quality.
- Design. The device should blend organically into the interior, rather than appearing as an alien object.

Which type of air conditioner is preferable for a frame house?
In our opinion, the optimal option in terms of price/quality ratio are wall-mounted air conditioners. They are compact, look neat, and are relatively inexpensive. The only downside: they are not suitable for houses with an area exceeding 150 sq. m. In such cases, it’s better to consider ducted air conditioners, VRV systems, and other more powerful climate equipment.
