Pay attention to the construction

On the market, there are four types of strollers for newborns:

• Cradle. Used for babies up to 6 months old. Allows transporting newborns. The baby remains in a lying position in the cradle, so buying such a stroller is not always justified.

• Transformer system 2 in 1. Here, in addition to the standard cradle and chassis, the set includes a stroller unit. Therefore, such a stroller can already be used for children aged 6 months and older.

• Transformer system 3 in 1. In addition to the cradle, chassis, and stroller unit, this system also includes a car seat for category 0+. Such a stroller is especially convenient for young parents who own a car.

• Transformer system 4 in 1. In this case, the baby stroller is additionally equipped with a special cradle stand, which instantly converts it into a standard crib. That is, young parents do not need to wake up a sleeping baby during a walk to transfer him to a crib.

The more components a stroller has, the higher its price will be.

Material type

When purchasing, it is advisable to pay attention to the material type. It is good if it is moderately dense, water-repellent, but still breathable. In such a cradle or stroller unit, the baby will be comfortable both in winter and in summer. Modern strollers often have UV protection for the material.

Dimensions

Here, the discussion is not only about the width and length of the cradle, which ideally should be 40 and 80 cm respectively, but also about the chassis dimensions. Why is this needed? So that the stroller can easily pass through apartment or house doors, elevators, and stairwells. Therefore, before going shopping, measure all doorways that parents and the baby will have to pass through. Choose a stroller with appropriate parameters.

Weight and convenience

If the mother will be managing the stroller more often, it is worth evaluating the weight of the item. Especially if you often need to fold the transport, place it in the car trunk, or carry it up stairs. Also, pay attention to the folding mechanism. For the mother, it should not cause difficulties. If necessary, practice in the store: check the accuracy of installing the cradle, stroller unit, and car seat. All slots should fit perfectly and securely fix the stroller components.

Wheels

Modern strollers often have either plastic molded wheels or rubber ones. The first are convenient because they do not require inflation, are light, and maneuverable. They can go anywhere. However, they will be harder than rubber wheels. In contrast, rubber wheels are inflatable, provide additional suspension, and offer greater comfort for the baby during the ride.

Additional features

A good stroller should be equipped with a comfortable mattress for the baby, ideally orthopedic. It is important that the vehicle has at least three-point safety belts. Ideally – five-point. They will ensure the child a comfortable and safe ride even in a sitting position.
