There are currently many types of tillers. Since they are an essential part of every agricultural production. The main function of this machine - loosening the soil and also to destroy various weeds. Some models, while performing the main task, can also fertilize the soil.
Tiller working parts are presented by different shovels (tines), plows, as well as blades. The first are used for plowing and also leveling the upper layers of soil. Plows, unlike tines, are capable of hilling only between rows. Blades are capable of removing dry crust and cutting out weeds.

They can be divided into three types by function.

  1. Steam tiller - needed for soil work before sowing. It helps prepare the soil for future sowing, performing comprehensive soil preparation.
  2. Row tillers - work with already planted crops. They loosen the soil, filling it with oxygen and microelements for plant nourishment.
  3. Specialized - designed for specific crops, such as beets, melons, pumpkins, cotton, and similar.

By efficiency and weight, they are typically divided into four main groups.

  • Ultra-light and light - weigh little and are used in small private farms. On small vegetable gardens, dacha plots, and similar. They do not require large amounts of resources, so they perform work in relatively small volumes.
  • Medium - machines weighing up to seventy kilograms, designed for large areas. They have significantly higher efficiency than the first two groups.
  • Heavy - machines for industrial complexes, capable of processing extremely large areas. Often, they can be found on large agribusinesses.

A tiller can be hitched, hand-held, tractor-mounted, or in the form of a motorized block.

  1. Tractor-mounted or hitched tillers are used as trailers for tractors.
  2. Hand-held is the cheapest option for minimal tilling of small flower beds, but not suitable for serious work.
  3. Motorized blocks cost several times more than hand-held, but are very useful for processing moderate-sized plots.

Before performing work, it is advisable to thoroughly inspect the equipment. Lubricate necessary components. Check that everything is securely fastened, and ensure there are no damages or cracks.
