On rural roads, you can often encounter an interesting vehicle that resembles the front part of a tractor with a heavily loaded trailer. Almost everyone who has seen such a device does not get surprised. This compact mini-tractor is called a motorized cultivator. In our country, as in many others where agriculture is developed, it is very popular.
Many strive to buy a motorized cultivator in Zaporizhzhia and other countries, primarily due to the demand for such a vehicle. It represents an average variant of a cultivator and a tractor. For large-scale agricultural businesses, such a model is not very suitable, as they rely on large and powerful garden machinery. At home and on a dacha, a cultivator is optimal. But on small farms, where there are no funds for expensive equipment, such a device becomes a solution.
What are the main features of a motorized cultivator?
This variant handles small agricultural tasks and cargo transport excellently. Unlike other transport devices, it has self-propulsion and a trailer located at the rear. A cultivator, on the other hand, moves by rotating a disc. Of course, small ones are easier to operate, but they do nothing except cultivating soil. Heavy and medium machines are designed for work with attached equipment.
Motorized cultivators are purchased when it is necessary to work with heavy virgin soils. They properly perform plowing, but one needs to prepare for the fact that they are heavier and less maneuverable compared to cultivators. However, this applies more to outdated models. Modern models are so modernized that they are equipped with numerous innovative features and move easily and quickly across fields.
Motorized cultivators come in light, medium, and heavy variants. The first variant usually runs on gasoline, rarely diesel. This is an economical model, sold at a low price and equipped with an engine of no more than 9 horsepower. Air cooling of the engine is provided. Light motorized cultivators are successfully used for cultivating soil to a medium depth.
Medium units are more serious in construction. You can attach various additional equipment, including dynamic ones — for example, a rotary mower or a snow auger. Heavy ones are sufficiently powerful and imposing, equipped with discs.
