Features of Glass Bottle Labeling

Labeling is the process of applying all mandatory information to any product packaging, regulated by current legislation. It is performed for all products sold in stores, shopping centers, supermarkets. Labeling is necessary to convey essential product information to the consumer, helping them make a purchase decision. The law clearly defines the requirements for this information.

Data must be applied regardless of the packaging material. Among modern manufacturers, glass bottles are especially in demand. They are used for beverages, vegetable, meat, and dairy products. Such packaging is safer and more eco-friendly compared to plastic. It is suitable for reuse and recycling, and does not emit harmful substances.

What information should be on the label

Production of sauces, caviar, beverages, and other food products follows a set of requirements. A responsible manufacturer always cares about the quality of the contents. To confirm this and encourage the consumer to make a purchase, labeling is easily used. Compliance with storage and transportation rules is also important.

Labeling of glass bottles will provide basic information about the contents. This includes:

  • manufacturing date and time. These are especially important for perishable products. However, such products are rarely sold in glass;
  • expiration date. Indicates the last day the product remains fit for consumption;
  • batch number. This is a code designed for tracking purchases among distributors. It will be needed by the buyer if they wish to make any claims against the seller;
  • barcode. It can be one-dimensional or two-dimensional;
  • ingredient information. If GMOs, preservatives, or various additives are present, they must be clearly indicated. Concealing such information is considered consumer fraud and dissemination of false information.

To increase the product's value, gain consumer trust in the brand and manufacturer, a label is applied. On it, the product name, brand logo, trademark, and a symbol indicating the product's category are printed.

Glass containers are automatically labeled as bottles move along the conveyor. It is important that the print is clear, easily understandable, and of high quality, without blurred characters. To solve such tasks, various methods are used. The first is the use of thermal inkjet printers. They can have one-sided coding features, high-speed data transmission, and more.

For different lines under complex conditions, continuous inkjet printing is more suitable. For fast application of barcodes and QR codes, laser devices are used. They are very convenient to maintain. The chosen equipment must be of maximum quality and efficiency in operation.
