Advantages of Polypropylene Twine TEKST Compared to Other Types

Polypropylene twine is made from modern synthetic polymer material and has several advantages compared to natural analogs (jute, linen, cotton, sisal, hemp, etc.). Polypropylene is resistant to chemical and organic substances, and has high strength. These properties make it the best choice for use in various fields: agriculture, industry, waste recycling, construction, goods delivery. Synthetic twine is also suitable for personal use – plant tying in greenhouses, packing items during relocation.

Types of Synthetic Twine

Domestic and foreign manufacturers offer a wide range of products with different TEKST (linear density) indicators – from thin TEKST 800 to super-strong TEKST 7000. TEKST 2200 polypropylene twine is considered the standard, possessing optimal characteristics for tying and packaging various goods. Additionally, consumers can purchase twine with UV stabilizers (light-stabilized).

Advantages of Polypropylene Twine

  • In contrast to natural materials, it does not absorb moisture and odors, is resistant to acids and alkalis, does not react with organic solvents. It can be used in high humidity and outdoors. Natural fibers lose strength and easily break when wet.
  • Polypropylene does not develop mold or fungi, is resistant to bacterial and parasite action, does not rot, and is safe for human health. Thanks to these properties, polypropylene twine is widely used for tying fruit and vegetable crops, baling hay, and packaging food products.
  • Synthetic twines are resistant to bending and abrasion, suitable for both automatic and manual tying. They are lighter and thinner than natural materials with similar strength.
  • Despite its advantages, polypropylene twine is cheaper than linen or jute.

Applications of Natural Binding Materials

Packaging twines made from jute, sisal, and other renewable resources are more environmentally friendly and safer for the environment when decomposing compared to polypropylene. They are also more resistant to UV radiation and high temperatures (polypropylene without special additives decomposes under such conditions, releasing harmful substances). Natural binding materials are used for packaging food products, gifts, souvenirs, and other consumer goods.
