Grinding equipment is very different. First, it differs by mounting method. The largest, most powerful, and productive floor-mounted units. These are exclusively industrial models, operating exclusively on three-phase voltage.

The tabletop version is more compact. It is installed on a workbench or mounted on a table with a sturdy top. The motor power is designed for servicing a small production shop or a workshop with moderate workload.

There are also suspended structures. They are the least bulky and practically do not occupy space. They are powered exclusively by 220V.

• Calibration-grinding machine designed for working with wooden and particle board blanks. It consists of two working units. One of them only grinds, while the other also performs calibration. The models are not bulky, but designed for operation on medium and large enterprises. They are simply indispensable in the woodworking industry, so they are often used in the production of windows, doors, panel furniture, parquet boards, etc.
• Drum grinding machine performs its main task using a drum-shaped cylinder that rotates. This design is designed for processing flat and long items. A convenient height adjustment system ensures comfortable and effective operation.
• Belts grinding machines are designed for final surface processing. They are popular among furniture workshops and are also suitable for working with steel and colored metals. For this, you only need to change the abrasive nature of the belt. Also, with their help, you give desired shapes to parts and remove minor defects. On the production line, they are no less popular than format-cutting installations. The more functional the workshop, the higher the quality of the product. • Disc-belt grinding machine performs two types of grinding — circular and flat. These are combined and multifunctional models. Usually, the equipment is heavy with a cast iron base. Thanks to this, it maintains stability and resists vibration. The set includes a special support, the angle of which is adjustable. Thanks to this, you can grind at the selected angle. • Sharpening-grinding machine, known in folk as a grinder. Even children know what it looks like, since almost every homeowner has this assistant in their workshop or garage. For this, equipment of medium and heavy class is suitable. It is equipped with two discs of different abrasiveness for sharpening and grinding. Machines for wood and metal are very different, and it is very difficult to understand each existing type if you are not a professional. However, the first thing to consider when choosing a machine — the material being processed. But this is not the only thing that matters in choosing such serious equipment. Also consider:

• Motor power. It should be sufficient to perform tasks in full. It is better to choose a helper with a bit more power reserve to avoid overloading the electric motor.
• Maximum part diameter. Why buy a machine at home designed for large blanks if such a need does not exist? To avoid spending money on unnecessary functionality, determine the sizes of the parts to be processed in advance.
• Adjustment range and accuracy of the grinding angle. This affects the quality of work. It should be high, even if you are making something for yourself.
• The manufacturer should be sufficiently well-known and reputable. Otherwise, there is a risk of encountering a counterfeit that will not be worth half the paid price. A well-known brand means adherence to warranty obligations, reliability and longevity of equipment, and ease of service.
