In Focus — Bayer's Innovative Technologies
On February 7, 2017, an annual practical seminar dedicated to innovative developments in seed planting material and new products in the line of plant protection products took place in Voronezh. More than 60 managers and specialists from agricultural enterprises in the Central Chernozem region were able to directly ask questions and receive consultations in the field of agronomy, as well as share their experience in applying modern developments in their practice. The event was organized by the Bayer Group.
During the seminar, held at the Voronezh hotel and entertainment complex "Vaytsekhovsky and Sons", farmers became acquainted with the 2017 novelties in seed planting material presented in the portfolio of AO "Bayer" — hybrid sunflower and corn seeds from the producer "Euralis Semańs". However, a good harvest is impossible without seed treatment and subsequent field treatments at all stages of vegetation until maturity.
During the discussion, representatives of AO "Bayer" introduced agricultural enterprises' managers and specialists to a new seed treatment product Lamador Pro, registered for barley, and Redigo Pro — for a wide range of cereal crops. These seed treatments will become reliable allies in the fight against pathogens. A key argument in favor of using Lamador Pro is the absence of the risk of resistance development, while Redigo Pro exhibits biological activity against more than 15 diseases.
A number of post-emergence plant protection products from "Bayer" have proven their effectiveness on Russian fields. Among them is the universal Maister Power, which allows eliminating most weeds from corn crops, systemic fungicides — Falcon, applied at the flag leaf stage, Soligor and Prozaro, intended for combating fusarium.
In addition to the popular systemic fungicide Falcon, recommended for use on cereal crops and sugar beet, whose sales volume showed a significant increase of more than 20% in 2016, the company "Bayer" is introducing a new product — a combined systemic treatment with curative effect Sfera Maks. It is active against all sugar beet diseases (cercosporosis, fomosis, powdery mildew, ramulariosis), but also exhibits a pronounced greening effect.
The company "Bayer" firmly holds 15% of the Russian market share in the production of plant protection chemicals and has long proven itself as a reliable partner for Russian agricultural producers. This includes organizing interaction with farmers at all levels. During the seminar, relevant questions were raised concerning the combined use of "Bayer" products taking into account climatic conditions and infection background, to which leading specialists in this field responded.
After the seminar, the company "Bayer" as a hospitable host invited all participants to a shooting club competition, while those who did not feel inclined toward firearms happily rode horses, warming themselves with hot aromatic tea.
