Abutilon darwinii

Abutilon darwinii is an evergreen semi-shrub species belonging to the family Malvaceae. Often referred to in common parlance as the "indoor maple" or "flowering maple," it is highly valued in horticulture for its distinctive leaf shape and striking bell-shaped flowers that bloom in shades of orange with prominent red veining.

The native habitat of this species is found within the tropical regions of Brazil. Because of its tropical origins, it thrives in warm, humid environments and is primarily cultivated as a container or greenhouse plant in temperate climates, where it cannot survive freezing winter temperatures outdoors.

Botanically, the plant is characterized by a soft, pubescent texture on both stems and leaves.
