Silky yarrow (Latin: Achillea holosericea) is a perennial herbaceous plant belonging to the Asteraceae family. Known for its distinct silvery-grey foliage, this species is gaining attention in sustainable agriculture for its drought tolerance and potential as a commercial crop for ornamental and medicinal purposes.

The plant originates from the mountainous terrain of the Balkan Peninsula. Due to its evolutionary adaptation to rocky, sun-exposed habitats, it thrives in environments characterized by high light intensity and well-drained soils. Today, it is cultivated in various temperate regions where low-maintenance perennial crops are required for soil stabilization or bio-pharma raw material production.

Botanically, Achillea holosericea is defined by its densely pubescent, silky-textured leaves which assist in moisture retention.
