Oriental monkshood (lat. Aconitum orientale) is a perennial herbaceous plant belonging to the Ranunculaceae family. Known for its distinct yellowish flowers and robust growth, it serves as a significant botanical specimen in various regions. As with other members of the Aconitum genus, it contains potent alkaloids and must be handled with care.

The plant originates from the mountainous regions of the Caucasus and parts of Western Asia. It typically thrives in subalpine meadows and forest margins. Its cultivation is suitable for temperate climates where it can adapt to local soil types provided that moisture levels remain consistent throughout the growing season.

Botanically, it features sturdy stems reaching up to 1.5 meters. The leaves are palmately divided, creating a lush texture. This color profile makes it a unique addition compared to the more common blue-flowered species of Aconitum.
