Actiniopteris radiata is a remarkable fern species belonging to the family Pteridaceae. Often referred to as the peacock fern or fan fern, this small-sized plant is characterized by its distinct, radially divided fronds that resemble a miniature fan or a small palm. The species is native to arid and semi-arid regions of Africa, the Middle East, and India. It naturally thrives in rocky crevices and shallow, nutrient-poor soils. Because of its native environment, the fern is well-adapted to conditions that would challenge more typical shade-loving ferns, showing a notable resilience to moderate drought periods.
