The Queensland tree waratah (Alloxylon flammeum) is a spectacular evergreen tree belonging to the Proteaceae family. It is widely recognized for its vibrant, fiery-red inflorescences that appear in large clusters, making it one of the most sought-after ornamental trees in warm temperate and tropical regions worldwide.

Native to the rainforests of Northern Queensland, Australia, this species thrives in high-humidity environments. Its natural habitat dictates its specific needs: it requires protection from severe frosts and dry winds. When planted outside its native range, it is best suited for coastal areas with mild winter temperatures and consistent rainfall throughout the year.
