This hybrid is a result of cross-breeding between Aloe bakeri Scott-Elliot and Aloe glauca Mill., belonging to the Asphodelaceae family. As a specialized succulent, it inherits the compact, delicate habit of its Malagasy parent alongside the robust, glaucous characteristics of the South African Aloe glauca. It is recognized by botanists and collectors as a unique cultivar with distinct ornamental value.

The native range of the parent species encompasses the arid environments of Madagascar and South Africa. This hybrid is primarily grown in botanical collections, greenhouses, and as an indoor potted plant. It is not considered a traditional broad-acre crop, but it plays a significant role in the horticulture of ornamental succulents, requiring controlled environments to mimic its natural desert-like habitat.

Botanically, the plant develops dense rosettes of slender, often serrated leaves that can exhibit a silvery-blue (glaucous) bloom when exposed to direct sunlight. Its growth habit is relatively slow, forming a shallow, fibrous root system. The inflorescence usually appears in the warmer months, producing spikes of tubular, nectar-rich flowers that are highly characteristic of the genus Aloe.

Cultivation requirements focus on high light intensity and well-draining mineral-based soil mixes. Watering must be disciplined, focusing on the "soak and dry" method to prevent root rot. During the dormant winter season, the plant benefits from cooler temperatures and significantly reduced moisture, which helps prevent etiolation and promotes stronger, more compact growth in the following spring.

The main challenges in maintaining this plant include susceptibility to root mealybugs and spider mites, particularly in stagnant, humid environments. Fungal rot is a common issue resulting from overwatering or inadequate soil aeration.
