Alstroemeria hybrids (Alstroemeria hybrids) are ornamental perennial crops belonging to the Alstroemeriaceae family. Known for their striking colors and longevity, these plants are staples of the professional floral industry, prized for their ability to maintain vase freshness for extended periods.

The botanical origins of Alstroemeria trace back to the mountainous regions of South America, specifically Chile, Peru, and Brazil. In contemporary commercial agriculture, these hybrids are predominantly cultivated in high-tech greenhouses to ensure precise environmental regulation, enabling year-round harvesting of high-quality floral stems.

Botanically, these plants are defined by fleshy, tuberous rhizomes that serve as storage organs for nutrients. The stems are sturdy and covered with lanceolate leaves that exhibit resupination, where the leaf blades twist to expose the underside. The flowers typically form umbellate inflorescences and are celebrated for their vibrant patterns and spotted throat, which give them the common name "Peruvian Lily".

Successful cultivation requires specific soil conditions, characterized by high organic matter content, excellent drainage, and a pH between 5.5 and 6.5. Temperature management is the most critical factor in agrotechnics; the root zone must remain cool (ideally 12–15°C) to prevent stress, while ambient air temperatures are best kept between 18–22°C to promote optimal flowering.
