Bog-rosemary (Andromeda polifolia L. var. latifolia Aiton) is a small evergreen shrub belonging to the Ericaceae family. Known for its delicate, bell-shaped flowers and narrow, leathery leaves, it is a prized specimen for alpine gardens and specialized Ericaceous plant collections. The plant maintains a compact habit, rarely exceeding half a meter in height, making it an excellent candidate for small-scale landscaping.

The native range of this species covers the cold and temperate zones of the Northern Hemisphere. It thrives in high-moor peat bogs, swampy forests, and wet tundra environments. This evolutionary history dictates its specific physiological requirements, as it is highly specialized for nutrient-poor, acidic conditions where other plants typically struggle to survive.
