Pseudoaltaic anemone (Anemone pseudoaltaica) is a perennial herbaceous plant belonging to the Ranunculaceae family. In an agricultural and horticultural context, this species is classified as a spring ephemeral, meaning it completes its vegetative growth and flowering cycle early in the spring before becoming dormant for the remainder of the year.

The plant originates from the forested regions of the Far East, specifically occurring in Japan and Korea. In its natural habitat, it thrives in damp, nutrient-rich soils under the canopy of deciduous forests, where it benefits from the cool, shaded microclimate and high levels of organic matter found in the forest floor litter.

Botanically, it is characterized by a creeping rhizome system that allows it to spread and form clusters over time. The foliage is palmately lobed, rising from the base, while the flowers feature delicate, white-to-pale-lavender tepals. Despite its modest size, typically reaching 10–25 cm in height, it creates a striking visual impact during its short blooming period.

Cultivation requires replicating these specific ecological conditions. The ideal soil is loose, well-draining, and rich in humus with a slightly acidic to neutral pH. Agricultural management involves ensuring consistent moisture during the spring growth phase and protecting the soil from overheating during the summer dormant stage, often achieved through strategic mulching and shade selection.
