Its native habitat includes rocky crevices and nutrient-rich forest floors, reflecting its preference for stable microclimatic conditions and high ambient moisture levels.

Botanically, it is characterized by narrow, bipinnate fronds growing in compact rosettes. A unique feature is the arrangement of sori along the leaf veins, which is essential for reproduction. The rhizome is short and creeping, often covered with small scales that protect the plant as it anchors into its growth medium.

Cultivation requires strict adherence to environmental parameters. The plant needs temperatures between 15°C and 22°C and high humidity levels to prevent frond desiccation. The growing medium must be loose, slightly acidic, and well-draining, typically consisting of a mix of leaf mold, peat, and coarse perlite to maintain aeration.

In terms of plant protection, the species is susceptible to mealybugs, aphids, and scale insects. Root rot is a significant concern if drainage is inadequate or if the plant is overwatered.
