Goat milk vetch (Astragalus caprinus) is a perennial herbaceous plant belonging to the legume family (Fabaceae). This hardy species is recognized for its significant drought tolerance and ability to thrive in challenging environments, making it a reliable choice for sustainable agricultural systems in arid regions.

The plant originates from the steppe and semi-desert zones of Eurasia. Its natural distribution is widespread across Central Asia and the Caucasus.
