Net-veined barberry (lat. Berberis dictyota) is an evergreen shrub belonging to the Berberidaceae family. This species is highly regarded by horticulturists for its distinct foliage characteristics and its structural integrity, which allows it to thrive in challenging environments where other shrubs might struggle.

The plant originates from the mountainous regions of Mexico. It is native to high-altitude areas where it occupies rocky slopes and exposed terrain. Botanically, the plant is distinguished by its rigid, leathery leaves with a prominent network of veins, giving it a rugged appearance.
