Buckler mustard

Buckler mustard (lat. Biscutella didyma L.) is an annual herbaceous plant belonging to the Brassicaceae family. Within agricultural practice, it is often identified as a pioneer species or a wild plant associated with rangelands in Mediterranean environments, known for its unique fruit shape that resembles a pair of spectacles.

The origin of this species is traced to the Mediterranean basin, the Middle East, and parts of Northern Africa. It is well-adapted to habitats with high solar radiation and low moisture availability, such as rocky slopes, abandoned fields, and arid grazing lands where few other plants can thrive.
