Rangiora

Rangiora (Brachyglottis repanda) is a prominent evergreen shrub native to New Zealand, belonging to the Asteraceae family. It is widely recognized for its large, leathery, and deeply lobed leaves that feature a soft, silvery-white tomentum on the underside, providing a striking visual contrast.

The plant originates from the diverse ecosystems of New Zealand, flourishing in coastal regions and forest margins. Its natural adaptability allows it to thrive in various soil types, provided that the drainage remains efficient, as the plant is sensitive to waterlogged conditions.

Botanically, it is known for its rapid growth rate and ability to form a dense, spreading shrub that can reach several meters in height. During the flowering season, the plant produces clusters of small, fragrant, yellow flowers that are arranged in complex panicles, attracting bees and other beneficial insects.
