Syrian brome (Bromus syriacus) is a perennial grass species belonging to the Poaceae family. In agronomy, this crop is recognized for its exceptional resilience in arid and semi-arid environments, making it a valuable candidate for forage production in regions where water availability is a limiting factor for traditional crops.

Originating from the Middle East and the Eastern Mediterranean region, this species has evolved to withstand harsh climatic conditions, including high solar radiation and irregular rainfall patterns.
