Ceylon canarium

Ceylon canarium (Latin Canarium zeylanicum) is an evergreen tree belonging to the Burseraceae family. This plant is endemic to Sri Lanka and holds significant value as a fruit-bearing crop within its natural range. The tree can reach a considerable height, possessing a dense canopy and a well-developed root system, which makes it a resilient component of tropical forest ecosystems.

In its natural habitat, the plant grows in the tropical rainforests of Sri Lanka. For optimal growth, the crop requires a hot and humid climate with minimal seasonal temperature fluctuations.
