Chinese fringetree

The Chinese fringetree (Chionanthus retusus) is a deciduous ornamental tree or large shrub that belongs to the Olive family (Oleaceae). It is highly prized in horticulture for its spectacular spring display of white, fringe-like flowers, which cover the entire canopy in a snowy effect, giving the plant its common name and widespread popularity in landscaping.

Native to Eastern Asia, including China, Korea, and Japan, this species has been successfully introduced to various temperate climates worldwide.
