Chirita tamiana (currently reclassified as Primulina tamiana) is a small, herbaceous plant species belonging to the family Gesneriaceae. In professional and amateur floriculture, this plant is recognized as a miniature, perennial ornamental crop favored for its ease of growth and its attractive, bell-shaped blooms that emerge throughout the vegetative season.

The origin of this species is linked to the rocky, humid regions of Northern Vietnam. Due to its natural habitat, it has evolved to thrive in crevices where drainage is optimal and light is filtered by the canopy or rock formations, a trait that translates well into a controlled greenhouse or indoor environment.

Botanically, the plant is characterized by a basal rosette of fleshy, dark green, pubescent leaves. The flowers are typically white, often featuring subtle violet patterns in the throat, held upright on slender stalks. The plant's morphology is adapted for efficiency in nutrient uptake, making it a highly responsive subject for controlled cultivation.

Cultural requirements involve a loose, porous growing medium consisting of a mix of peat, perlite, and perhaps a small amount of vermiculite to ensure high aeration.
