Corn marigold (Latin: Chrysanthemum segetum) is an annual herbaceous plant belonging to the Asteraceae family. Although historically classified within the Chrysanthemum genus, modern taxonomy places it in the genus Glebionis. The plant is widely recognized for its vibrant yellow ray florets and its common occurrence in agricultural fields throughout Europe and beyond.

Originating from the Mediterranean basin, the corn marigold has successfully spread across various temperate regions of the world. In farming environments, it typically colonizes cereal fields, meadows, and disturbed lands. Its ability to colonize large areas quickly makes it a significant species that requires careful management in commercial agriculture.

Botanically, the plant features a smooth, branched stem that can reach heights of up to 60 centimeters. Its leaves are distinctively glaucous and lobed, providing an attractive contrast to the intense yellow daisy-like flower heads.
