Copperbush

Copperbush (Cladothamnus pyroliflorus) is a deciduous shrub that belongs to the Ericaceae family. It is distinct among its relatives for its unique floral structure, characterized by five separate petals and prominent stamens that give the flowers a resemblance to those of the pyrola genus. As a horticultural subject, it is prized by enthusiasts for its elegant appearance and its association with cool, moist temperate climates.

The native range of this shrub is concentrated along the Pacific Coast of North America, stretching from Alaska down through British Columbia to Oregon. In these regions, it typically occupies niche environments such as subalpine meadows, rocky slopes, and the understory of coniferous forests.
