Burning bush combretum

Burning bush combretum (Combretum microphyllum) is a vigorous, woody climbing vine belonging to the Combretaceae family. It is widely recognized for its spectacular display of vibrant red, brush-like flowers that can cover the entire canopy. In its natural habitat, it acts as a canopy-forming plant, utilizing support structures to reach considerable heights in tropical forest edges.

The plant is native to tropical regions of Africa, specifically flourishing in riverine forests and savannah environments. Because of its tropical origins, it requires a frost-free climate to thrive. It performs best in full sun exposure, which is critical for flower bud development and ensuring the intense coloration of the stamens that give the plant its characteristic "burning" appearance.
