Rutgers Dogwood (Cornus x rutgersensis) is a sophisticated interspecific hybrid belonging to the Cornaceae family. Developed by the Rutgers University breeding program, this plant was created by crossing Cornus florida and Cornus kousa to combine the superior floral display of the former with the robust disease resistance of the latter, specifically against dogwood anthracnose.
