Grey hair-grass, known scientifically as Corynephorus divaricatus, is a perennial grass belonging to the Poaceae family. The plant is native to the sandy habitats and heaths of Europe, where it has adapted to survive in environments characterized by low nutrient availability and high permeability. Its range of cultivation is largely defined by these specific soil conditions, as the plant thrives in areas where competitors are unable to establish due to the scarcity of water and nitrogen.
