Originating from the tropical rainforests of Southeast Asia, the species is widely distributed across countries such as Malaysia, Indonesia, Vietnam, and the Philippines. It is primarily found in undisturbed, humid forest ecosystems where it utilizes larger trees as climbing supports to reach the forest canopy and access sunlight.
