Cuprocyparis ovensii is an intergeneric hybrid evergreen conifer belonging to the Cupressaceae family. It is a cross between the Nootka cypress and the Monterey cypress. This species is widely recognized for its exceptional growth rate and uniform, dense foliage, making it a highly desirable candidate for creating large-scale evergreen screens and windbreaks in garden environments.

The origin of this hybrid is attributed to selective breeding in the United Kingdom. Being a horticultural development, it does not have a native range in the wild but is extensively cultivated across temperate regions where winters are mild. Its distribution is currently centered in European gardens and specialized nurseries focusing on high-performance ornamental conifers.
