The plant undergoes a natural dormancy phase, during which the above-ground foliage dies back.
Successful cultivation requires specific environmental conditions. It demands well-draining, nutrient-rich soil with a high organic matter content. Regular moisture is essential during the growing season; however, waterlogging must be strictly avoided to prevent rhizome rot. The ideal temperature range for rapid growth and flowering is between 22 and 28 degrees Celsius, mimicking its native tropical climate.
In terms of agricultural and commercial use, the hidden lily is valued for its versatility in landscaping and its durability as a cut flower. Common pests include aphids and spider mites, which typically target the underside of the leaves. Disease management focuses on maintaining optimal soil moisture and aeration to prevent fungal infections. Proper management of the dormancy period is critical to ensure vigorous regrowth in the following cycle.
