Giant sedge (Latin Cyperus immensus) is a perennial herbaceous plant belonging to the Cyperaceae family. It is a robust species within its genus, characterized by its substantial size and its ability to thrive in wetland environments where it forms dense, dominant clusters.

The plant originates from tropical Africa, where it is native to swampy areas and riverbanks.
