The plant produces leathery, dark green leaves and distinctive inflorescences that sprout from the upper nodes of the pseudobulbs. The flowers are notable for their twisted lateral petals, resembling the antennae of an insect, which distinguishes this species from other Dendrobium varieties.

Successful cultivation requires a climate that mimics its native tropical environment. Ideally, temperatures should remain between 24°C and 28°C during the day, with night temperatures not dropping below 18°C. Sufficient light intensity is critical for the plant to thrive; while it needs bright, filtered sunlight, protection from direct afternoon sun is necessary to prevent leaf chlorosis and burning.

For optimal root health, the substrate must be highly porous, typically consisting of medium-grade pine bark, perlite, and charcoal. Proper drainage is essential to prevent root rot, as the roots are sensitive to waterlogging. Fertilization should be applied moderately throughout the growing season, using a balanced, water-soluble orchid fertilizer at a diluted concentration to support healthy growth and recurrent blooms.
