The origin and native range of this plant are strictly confined to the mountainous regions of Ossetia. It naturally occupies subalpine and alpine belts, where it thrives in soil crevices and rocky outcrops. Due to these specific environmental constraints, the species is not cultivated in traditional agronomic systems but remains of significant interest for regional botanical research.
The botanical characteristics of this species include the formation of dense rosettes of basal leaves that protect the plant from harsh, cold winds. Its root system is deep and taproot-like, which is a classic adaptation for stabilizing plants on shifting mountain slopes.
