The Drakaea glyptodon, commonly referred to as the King-in-his-carriage orchid, is a remarkable species of terrestrial orchid belonging to the Orchidaceae family. It is widely recognized for its extraordinary pollination mechanism, which involves mimicking the female of a specific wasp species. Despite its fascination, it is strictly a wild plant and cannot be managed as an agricultural crop due to its highly specialized ecological requirements.

The native range of this species is confined to the southwestern regions of Western Australia. It thrives in specific sandy soil types within open woodlands. The plant is heavily dependent on an underground symbiotic relationship with mycorrhizal fungi, which makes it extremely difficult to propagate or maintain outside of its precise natural habitat.
