Dalmatian bellflower (Edraianthus dalmaticus) is a perennial herbaceous plant belonging to the Campanulaceae family. In agricultural and horticultural terms, it is classified as a specialized alpine plant, highly valued for its ability to thrive in harsh, rocky environments where other vegetation often fails.

The plant originates from the Balkan Peninsula, specifically the Dalmatian region. It is endemic to high-altitude areas, typically found growing in crevices of limestone rocks and stony screes. Its natural habitat dictates its evolutionary development, resulting in high resilience to drought and nutrient-poor, alkaline substrates.

Botanically, this species is characterized by its prostrate or cushion-forming habit. It develops dense basal rosettes of narrow, grass-like leaves. During the blooming season, it produces striking, funnel-shaped violet-blue flowers arranged in terminal clusters. The plant possesses a deep taproot, which is essential for survival in its arid, mountain-top environment.

Cultivation requirements for successful establishment and long-term health include:
