Livingston's Ensete

Livingston's Ensete (Ensete livingstonianum) is a majestic herbaceous perennial belonging to the Musaceae family. Unlike true bananas of the genus Musa, this plant is a monocarpic species, meaning it flowers once and then dies. It is widely recognized for its impressive size and architectural presence, making it a popular choice for botanical gardens and ornamental landscapes.

The species is native to tropical regions of West and Central Africa. It thrives in high-humidity environments, such as forest edges and river valleys.
