Snow Gum (weeping form)

Eucalyptus lacrimans, commonly referred to as a specific weeping form of Snow Gum, is a distinctive evergreen tree belonging to the Myrtaceae family. Renowned for its graceful, drooping branches and elegant habit, this species is highly valued in botanical collections and ornamental landscapes. It stands out due to its refined structure compared to other more robust eucalyptus varieties.

The species is native to the subalpine regions of Australia, specifically within the New South Wales highlands. It has evolved to survive in cooler climates, distinguishing it from many tropical eucalyptus counterparts. Its natural habitat includes rocky, exposed areas where it has adapted to significant fluctuations in seasonal temperatures and occasional frost.
