Botanically, the plant is characterized by its resinous leaves and yellow, daisy-like flowers. It is not suitable for regions with high humidity, as excessive moisture leads to root health issues. Planting should be done in arid, well-aerated soils to ensure the root system is not suffocated.

Researchers are also investigating its resin content as a potential source for secondary metabolites or biofuels.
