Native to the tropical regions of Southeast Asia, specifically Thailand and Myanmar, the plant thrives in humid forest environments. It is typically found growing on shaded rocky slopes and mossy banks, where it is exposed to consistent moisture during the growing season followed by a dry period.

The botanical characteristics of this orchid include its vibrant, colorful blooms, which range from bright orange to pink and red hues. The plant produces a compact basal leaf rosette that naturally dies back after the flowering period, signaling the beginning of the dormancy stage for the tubers.

Successful cultivation requires a specialized approach, primarily focusing on a well-draining, airy substrate that retains moisture without becoming soggy. During the active growing phase, the plant needs consistent moisture and filtered, bright light. Temperature should be kept between 22–28°C for optimal development.

Hostile conditions such as excessive moisture during dormancy can lead to severe root rot. Pests like spider mites are common in indoor environments if the air humidity is insufficient. Therefore, maintaining stable climatic conditions is essential for the longevity of the collection.
