Heliotropium hybrids

Heliotropium hybrids represent a group of ornamental plants belonging to the Boraginaceae family. Renowned for their intense, vanilla-like fragrance and rich, deep purple or blue flower clusters, these hybrids are a staple in both residential gardens and professional landscaping projects around the world.

The original species are native to the tropical and subtropical regions of the Americas. Due to their genetic background, these plants thrive in warm environments. In regions with cold winters, they are typically grown as annuals or as container plants that are brought indoors during the frost season, as they cannot tolerate freezing temperatures.

Botanically, these plants feature distinct wrinkled, dark green leaves that provide an excellent backdrop for the vibrant terminal inflorescences.
