Description

Hybrid Agastache is a specialized agricultural crop resulting from the hybridization of Agastache foeniculum and Agastache rugosa. As a member of the Lamiaceae family, it combines the aromatic intensity of anise hyssop with the robust structure of Korean mint. This plant is increasingly recognized for its industrial potential as an essential oil source and a premier pollinator-friendly crop.

Originating from the genetic pool of North American and East Asian species, these hybrids are now cultivated in diverse temperate regions globally. Botanically, the plant is characterized by a square stem typical of the mint family, serrated leaves, and dense, terminal flower spikes that offer a prolonged blooming period from mid-summer until late autumn.

Successful cultivation requires a location with full sun exposure and well-drained, fertile soil. While the plant can tolerate short dry spells once established, consistent moisture during the early vegetative stage is crucial for biomass production.
