It serves as an excellent example of cross-breeding between highland species, combining the hardiness of N. ventricosa with the aesthetic appeal of N. vogelii.

The parent species originate from high-altitude tropical forests in Southeast Asia. N. ventricosa is native to the Philippines, while N. vogelii is found in Borneo. Cultivation of this hybrid is primarily centered in specialized greenhouses and botanical collections where controlled environments simulate the misty, high-humidity habitats of their natural range.

The plant features woody stems and broad leaves that terminate in tendrils. These tendrils support the specialized pitchers, which serve as traps for insects. Cleanliness is paramount, as the roots are sensitive to mineral accumulation, requiring the use of distilled, deionized, or rain water exclusively.
