Osoberry (scientific name: Oemleria cerasiformis) is a unique deciduous shrub belonging to the Rosaceae family. It is a monotypic genus, widely known for being one of the earliest plants to bloom in the spring, producing delicate white flowers that are highly valued by early-season pollinators. In the agricultural sector, it is recognized for its ornamental potential and ecological role in riparian zones.
The plant originates from the Pacific Northwest region of North America. Its natural range extends from British Columbia down to California, where it thrives in diverse habitats such as forest understories, thickets, and woodland edges.
