Fraser's Photinia (Photinia x fraseri) is a highly ornamental evergreen shrub or small tree belonging to the Rosaceae family. This hybrid, widely utilized in horticulture, is primarily distinguished by its striking bright red new growth that turns a glossy dark green as the leaves mature, providing a colorful aesthetic throughout the seasons.

The species originated from crossing Asian Photinia varieties and has since become a staple in temperate climate landscapes across the globe. It thrives in regions where winters are mild, though it requires a sheltered location away from harsh, drying winds to maintain its structural integrity and foliage quality.
