The plant originates from the primary rainforests of Southeast Asia, specifically across Peninsular Malaysia and parts of Indonesia. In its natural habitat, it thrives in the dense, shaded understory where humidity levels are perpetually high and temperatures remain constant. These ecological conditions dictate the specific requirements for its cultivation, as the plant does not tolerate direct sunlight or dry, arid environments.
